Launch of Marwell Zoological web site. The site which took Marwell seriously onto the website giving them full control of their news items and whats on - including images! Within the first week they had taken over £2k using a new online ticketing module.

Communicant wins the Marwell website development contract. An already proven website needs takeing to 'the next level' and we are very proud to be developing such a high profile client.

Our server is updated to provide even better performance and provide faster response times.

Communicant is now a full time business - so service will be even more improved and we work harder for new business.

Our first data driven website goes live - gunwharfstore with the ability of the web owners to update their data online.

OK, still a few loose edges but the site is now available as the front and main marketing arm of Communicant. Now we just need to build the ideal accounts/contacts database and start the promotion.

Better defining Small Scale Solutions role, realising that the name was a hell of a mouthful and wanting to upgrade the company to a more formal basis - Communicant is born.

As our customers websites have developed so have their technological demands - the company purchases its own web server to be hosted on the Internet backbone. This £3,500 per annum investment proves our commitment to offering the right service and developing our business ofereing for our existing customers who can now demand a more sophisticated hosting solution - but allows us to offer better rates for simpler sites thus breaking out from the any site one fee from simpler 'shared hosting' solutions. This solution also realistically identifies that our clients do not make massive demands on resources so the web server will run extremely quickly with our low demand clients.

With two years spent on Travelbags website and its development I form Small Scale Solutions to help smaller businesses get on the web as this is an area that particularly interests me. This business is run as a second business alongside my current role as Web Strategist with Travelbag. The two roles compliment each other and cross polinate between both.

November 1998
Having spent 8 years working in Travelbag, first as a succesful sales consultant and then as Sales Development Liaison(!) where my role was to develop succesful IT systems for sales consultants, based on exisiting software, to help them become more efficient I was given 4 months off to study the Internet and understand its effects on our business.
